Asparagus with Mandarin Orange Sauce
1 1/2 pounds of fresh asparagus, trimmed or 2 cans of asparagus
1 garlic clove, quartered
3 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp Granny M’s Mandarin Orange Glaze
2 Tbsp grated orange peel (optional)
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/2 can mandarin oranges
Place asparagus and a small amount of water in skillet and bring to a boil. Cover and cook for 6-8 minutes. If using canned asparagus, you can also cook it in the microwave for 3 minutes. While cooking the asparagus, in another skillet, sauté garlic in butter for 1 minute, discard garlic. Stir in Granny M’s Mandarin Orange Glaze, orange peel, salt and pepper. Heat mixture thoroughly. Drain asparagus and place in serving dish. Drizzle with orange mixture. Garnish orange sections.
